Time to Gather

We’re in the height of summer here in North Carolina, a season full of heat, humidity, and long days outdoors. School’s out, beach vacations are in full swing, backyard cookouts and neighborhood get-togethers fill the calendar.

For a season that’s supposed to put us in vacation mode, we sure do stay busy. And just around the corner, fall is waiting: back to school, sports, packed schedules. Back to busy... but did we ever really slow down?

Meals often become just another task to check off. Drive-through dinners, rushed lunches, everyone eating on their own time. Somewhere along the way, we lost the pause that gathering around the table once gave us. We lost the connection to one another that a shared meal brings.

The older I get, the more I value family dinners. Whether it’s a simple weeknight meal or a slow Sunday supper, an intimate moment or a full table of family and friends, it brings back a rhythm we’ve nearly forgotten. A rhythm that reminds us, this time together matters.

And when we take the time to set the table, something shifts. It becomes more than just meal, it becomes a moment. A celebration. We pull out the “good” dishes, the wedding china, Grandma’s favorite plates. We light candles. We use real napkins. Because in a world that feels increasingly disposable, these real moments matter.

I have loved creating our napkin collection.

For everyday dinners, backyard barbecues, and spontaneous picnics, our made-in-the-USA oatmeal and seersucker napkins are just right. Easy to wash and easy to love, these are the ones you’ll reach for over and over again.

For those Sunday suppers, holidays, and celebrations, our 100% linen napkins bring timeless beauty to the table. Heirloom quality and crafted to last, they’re the kind someone will pull out years from now and say, “These were Grandma’s.”

I invite you to explore our entire Kitchen and Dining collection and create a space to gather that is uniquely yours. Because slowing down starts at the table when we take the time to gather.
