A Place for Everything
There’s something deeply satisfying about a well-organized space. A place for everything, and everything in its place. Whether it’s a perfectly labeled spreadsheet (yes, I love a good spreadsheet, some might say it’s my favorite “video game” 🤓) or a neatly arranged closet, I’ve always found clarity in order.
But organization isn’t just about efficiency, it’s also about creating a space that feels good to be in. Research shows that decluttering can have real mental and emotional benefits. A well-ordered space reduces stress, improves focus, and boosts overall well-being. And when organization is paired with beauty? That’s where the magic happens.
According to Stanford’s BeWell, our environment directly impacts our mental state. A cluttered, chaotic space can contribute to feeling overwhelmed and anxious, while a clean, well-lit, and organized space promotes a sense of calm and control. Similarly, research from Utah State University highlights that decluttering can improve sleep, increase productivity, and even enhance decision-making.

For me, organizing isn’t just about tidying up, it’s about creating systems that work and making those systems beautiful. I recently tackled my desk using our handmade-in-NC baskets to bring both function and style into these spaces. Not only do they keep everything in its place, but they also add warmth and character, because when a space is beautiful, it’s more inviting, more inspiring, and easier to maintain. And makes it a space we want to be in.
This blend of organization and intentional styling transforms a space from simply "clean" to calm, curated, and comforting. And let’s be honest, when things look good, we’re more likely to keep them that way.
How do you bring beauty and order into your home? Are you more of a "just get it put away" person, or do you love styling your spaces too?
